Impeach Donald Trump Now, launched a campaign for an impeachment investigation of President Donald Trump on January 20, 2017, based on violations of the Domestic and Foreign Emoluments Clauses of the Constitution. Since that time, we have expanded our grounds for impeachment to include obstruction of justice, following the firing of FBI Director, James Comey. Now, new evidence has emerged of further obstruction by the Trump administration in the federal criminal investigation of potential coordination between the Trump campaign and Russian government to interfere in the 2016 presidential election.
In recent reporting from the New York Times and in a new book by David Wolff, allegations of obstruction of justice include attempting to influence former FBI Director James Comey to abandon the federal investigation, directing the testimony of his son Donald Jr. regarding his meeting with Russian representatives at Trump Tower, and renewed evidence for potential charges of conspiracy to obstruct justice.
As noted in the following New York Times oped:
Reporting this week by The New York Times and in a new book by Michael Wolff significantly adds to the evidence that President Trump obstructed justice. Of all the elements that must be proved to establish the offense of obstruction, the one that is most critical is corrupt intent: Did Mr. Trump wrongfully intend to obstruct the criminal and congressional investigations? The facts contained in these reports strongly suggest he did.
