Charlotte, Vermont Voted to Call on Congress to Launch Impeachment Investigation

Charlotte, a small Vermont town, is the latest community to pass our model resolution calling on Congress to investigate whether sufficient grounds exist to pursue an impeachment of President Trump.

On March 7th, Susan Ohanian, a retired teacher, introduced our resolution at the Town Meeting Day in Charlotte.

The New England Cable News channel reported that this was Ohanian’s first time she ever made a motion, and that she believes President Trump is improperly profiting from office.

MassLive: Amherst lawyer wants Town Meeting to consider impeachment of President Donald Trump

John Bonifaz, Free Speech For People Co-Founder and President, recently submitted a citizen petition, asking the Amherst Town Meeting to “call upon U.S. Rep. Jim McGovern, D-Worcester, “to sponsor, support and vote for a resolution of that House authorizing and directing the House Committee on the Judiciary to investigate whether sufficient grounds exist for the impeachment of Donald J. Trump, president of the United States, including, but not limited to, the violations listed herein.”

According to petition submitted by Bonifaz, a longtime Amherst resident, President Trump’s constitutional violations undermine “the integrity of the presidency, corruptly advance the personal wealth of the president and violate the public trust.”

The Amherst Town Meeting, which begins April 26,  may consider the  issue of whether Congress should launch an impeachment investigation of President Donald Trump.
