On Thursday, October 26, 2017, the League of Women Voters of Weston will host a special conversation at the Weston Public Library on “The Constitution and Donald Trump.” Community members are invited to join in to learn more about the resolution and how to get involved in local impeachment efforts.
The Constitution and Donald Trump: A Forum for Concerned Citizens
WHEN: Thursday, October 26th, 7:00-8:30 pm
WHERE: The Community Room of the Weston Town Library.
The League of Women Voters of Weston will facilitate and co-host the program, which will feature Free Speech For People Board Member and law professor Marguerite M. Dorn, whose career has focused on public international law and women’s leadership and advancement.
This event will set the stage for a vote on November 28th at the Special Town Meeting to consider a “citizens’ petition” calling on the U.S. House of Representatives to launch an impeachment investigation of President Trump for violations of the Constitution’s Emoluments Clauses. Across the nation, a growing number of cities and towns–from Brookline and Newton to Los Angeles and Oakland, California–have already approved similar, citizen-led resolutions. Now it is Weston’s turn!
We encourage all Weston voters and concerned citizens from throughout Metrowest to join us for this event and participate in what we hope will be a lively, informative, significant, and worthwhile discussion.
