LA City Council Committee Votes Unanimously to Advance a Trump Impeachment Resolution

A committee of the City Council of Los Angeles voted unanimously to advance an IMPEACHMENT RESOLUTION to the full LA City Council.  The resolution was recently presented to Councilmember Bob Blumenfield by the West Valley Resistance.  Similar resolutions have been passed by Richmond, CA; Alameda, CA; Berkeley, CA; Charlotte, Vermont; and Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Selectmen in Brookline, Mass. Unanimously Send Impeach Trump Resolution to Town Meeting

Last week, the town of Brookline, Massachusetts took a big step toward passing our model local resolution to impeach Donald Trump, when its Selectmen voted unanimously to send it to the May 23 Town Meeting.

The “Brookline Resolution in Support of Congressional Investigation Regarding Impeachment of President Donald J. Trump” began when Lisa Kolarik discovered our legal advocacy efforts to impeach President Trump for violations of the US Constitution.  Kolarik, who renewed her political engagement following the 2016 presidential election, credits our campaign and our March 2nd event in Jamaica Plain as the inspiration for this initiative.

Watch: The Campaign to Impeach Donald Trump Event in Berkeley, CA

On Monday, March 27th, organizers and citizen leaders from across the Bay Area packed the Center For Faith & Justice in Berkeley for a special panel and Q/A discussion on the campaign to impeach President Trump.

Speakers for the event included: John Bonifaz, Co-Founder and President, Free Speech For People; Norman Solomon, Co-Founder and Coordinator, RootsAction; Jovanka Beckles, Member of Richmond City Council; Eva Paterson, Civil Rights Attorney and Activist; and Ben Clements, Chair of the Board, Free Speech For People.

The following day, on March 28th, the Berkeley City Council unanimously approved our model resolution at their City Council meeting.
